Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes of a community pharmacy? How decisions are made that impact thousands of pharmacies nationwide? The Walgreens Summer Corporate Pharmacy Internship Program (Job#013867) is a great way to find out.
The Walgreens Pharmacy Corporate Internship Program is a great opportunity for student pharmacists to enhance their educational experience with a corporate perspective of community pharmacy. Selected students will spend 12 learning-packed weeks at our corporate headquarters, located in Deerfield, Illinois, just north of Chicago. The internship is a full-time program offering a competitive salary and housing. Transportation is the intern's responsibility. The program consists of three four-week rotations in various departments throughout our corporate office. Also, the pharmacy interns will join other Walgreen corporate interns in dialogue sessions, presentations by Walgreen corporate managers, several tours and social events.
The 12-week program will be spent doing four-week rotations in three different areas throughout the corporate office.
Various presentations are offered featuring managers from across Walgreens broad corporate base. Presentations expose you to the workings of a successful company – the objectives and projects of different business units. These presentations provide insight into the personal career progression and current responsibilities of individual managers.
Social events are scheduled throughout the summer, where you can get to know other interns throughout our corporate headquarters.

Oregon State University Fellowship in Pharmaceutical Health Services and Outcomes Research
Position Description: The Oregon State University/Oregon Health & Science University College of Pharmacy is offering a 2 year fellowship providing advanced training in the areas of pharmaceutical policy and program evaluation, pharmacoepidemiology, and comparative effectiveness research. The fellow will receive formal training in biostatistics, epidemiology, clinical study design, and evidence synthesis, which can be applied to a Master of Public Health (emphasis in epidemiology and biostatistics) or Master of Clinical Research. During the fellowship, the fellow will plan, conduct, and disseminate results for 2-3 distinct research projects. During year 2, the fellow will work with the Pacific Northwest Evidence-based Practice Center (EPC), based at OHSU, on conducting systematic reviews. The fellow will also gain experience teaching in the College’s evidence- based medicine and drug policy curriculum. This program is intended to prepare the post-graduate fellow for a career in academia or industry.
Qualifications: PharmD or equivalent experience. PGY1 residency in pharmacy practice or managed care preferred

The Division of Pharmacotherapy and Experimental Therapeutics at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy offers graduate and fellowship programs to prepare clinical scientists for careers in academia, the pharmaceutical industry, and regulatory agencies. We believe that the future of the pharmacy profession will present unparalleled opportunities for Pharm.D./Ph.D. trained clinical scientists. Our Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences graduate program has been training students in clinical and translational research for over a decade. In addition, we have been offering academic- and industry- sponsored fellowships for over three decades. MCPHS University Biopharmaceutical Industry Fellowships
The Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS University) Post-PharmD Biopharmaceutical Industry Fellowships provide experience in he biopharmaceutical industry and academia. Fellows are immersed in corporate and academic cultures providing a wide exposure to careers in the biopharmaceutical industry. Fellows are appointed as adjunct assistant professors of pharmacy practice and will have opportunities to teach, develop, and coordinate classes at MCPHS University. Fellows participate in regular seminars at MCPHS University, precent students on advanced clinical rotations, and may have the opportunity to publish at least once per fellowship year.

Oregon State University College of Pharmacy, Student Health Center Pharmacy
Residency Special Features: The resident will primiarily work at the OSU Student Health Pharmacy (OSU SHS.) The resident will also spend time at the OSU College of Pharmacy and the Salud Clinic ambulatory care clinic in Woodburn, OR. The OSU SHS pharmacy has its own exam room to provide private counseling, admisnter flu shots, and perform physical assessment. Furthuremore, the resident will be provided the opportunity to teach, conduct patient research, perform laboratory screenings, provide MTM and evaluate pharmaceutical care and pharmacy service programs. The pharmacy resident's position is unique in that the resident fulfills the dual roles of the pharmacist and student. As such, the resident is responsible and accountable for provision of pharmacy services at OSU SHS, and is responsible, in a mentor/protege relationship with the residency preceptors and director, for the direction and evaluation of his/her education program. The community pharmacy resident will ensure the safe and accurate dispensing of medications, provide effective patient counseling and health education, create and maintain accurate and comprehensive records, and complete, document, and report the outsomes of patient care services.

Parkinson's Disease Pharmacotherapy Traineeship

Traineeship Site: Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Center, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Chicago, Illinois
The Parkinson's Disease Pharmacotherapy Traineeship provides individualized, intensive, experiential training for selected practicing pharmacists. Participats should expect immersion into a busy, academic-based movement disorders clinic where they will participate in patient visits and have one-on-one interactions with phsycians, patients, and families. The traineeship offers the trainee an opportunity to observe and participate in the development of treatment plans for persons with Parkinson's disease and other neurological disorders, including alternative clinical diagnoses, control of medication adverse effects, drug interactions, dementia and depression, adjustment of therapy, and the use of adjunctive medications. The traineeship also offers the opportunity for pharmacists to work with an dinterdisciplinary team consisting of physicians, nurses, social workers, speech and physical therapists, caregivers, family members, and patients to positively impact the treatment outcome.
