Student advising FAQs

Where are the Advisers located?

College of Pharmacy academic advisers are located in the Dean’s Office - 203 Pharmacy Building. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You are welcome to come in any time, although scheduling an appointment is recommended. Call 541-737-3424 or stop by the office to schedule an appointment.

When should I see an adviser?

You can schedule as many appointments as you would like. There are some minimum requirements for advising:

  • First-year students and new transfer students must have an advising appointment during their first term at OSU.
  • All pre-pharmacy students are required to have an advising appointment during spring term.
  • Any student on academic warning, academic probation, or recently reinstated from academic suspension must meet with an adviser every term until they return to good academic standing.
  • EAP students are required to meet with an adviser every term.

What should I take to an advising appointment?

You are encouraged to keep all material related to advising, and any updates received during the course of your time in the College of Pharmacy. At times it may also be appropriate to bring your OSU General Catalog to an advising appointment. It is a good idea to bring a list of any questions you have for your adviser.
