Registration

How to register

In order to register for classes, you must be admitted to Oregon State University and have an OSU ID number. Follow these steps to register for classes online:

  1. Go to the OSU Web page
  2. Select “Student Online Services” and then “Online Services Quick Login.”
  3. The login page requires your OSU student ID number and your 6-digit GAP (initially your birth date in MMDDYY format).
  4. Select “Registration” and then “Register/Add/Drop Classes.”
  5. Select the appropriate term and click “Submit Term.”
  6. Web registration is self-guiding and self-paced. Go as fast or slow as you want. Read the instructions on the Web screens and note the various links and buttons to additional pages. Use the scroll down function and right/left arrows.
  7. The “Back” button on your web browser should NOT be used.
  8. If you are unable to register, go to the “Check Your Registration Status” page from the Registration Menu to find out why. If you have a hold on your registration, select “View Holds” from the Student Records Menu to show the office and phone number you need to contact to have the hold removed.
  9. With “Search for Classes to Add” from the Registration Menu or the “Class Search” button on the Add/Drop Classes page, you will be able to look up additional classes and see up-to-the minute information about each class. Scroll side-to-side to see all information. If a class looks desirable, you may check the box and click “Register.” Courses appearing with a “Time Conflict” message will conflict with courses in which you are already registered.
  10. There are two ways to view your schedule: “Student Schedule by Day & Time” and “Detail Schedule.” Try them both. Review your schedule frequently!
  11. IMPORTANT: Be sure to use the “Submit Changes” button to process all Web registration requests! To verify changes, view or print your schedule!

When to register

The priority registration schedule can be viewed online. Pharm.D. students register with the other graduate students. The registration schedule will change for fall 2007, but Pharm.D. students will continue to register with graduate students.

How to correct registration errors

If you discover an error in your registration and need to make changes, you should consult the academic calendar to determine whether the deadline for making such changes has passed. If so, you will need assistance from Angela Austin Haney, director of student services/head adviser, to change your registration.
