Auxiliary to the American Pharmaceutical Association Pharmacy

Students in their next-to-last year or last year of school are eligible to apply for a loan from the APhA Auxiliary. The amount of each loan is $500, with a maximum of $1,000 per pharmacy school each fiscal year. Applications are available in the Rite Aid Resource Room, 235 Pharmacy, on the Corvallis campus. No application deadline is given.

Loan forgiveness programs

Some organizations offer loan forgiveness programs to pharmacy students:

Longs MINT Program

Longs Drugs will pay up to $10,000 tuition assistance per year for qualified Pharmacy School students. Click on "Company Info" then "Careers" at the Longs Web site.

Walgreens

Alternative loans

Numerous banks offer alternative loans, and special loans are available for students in medical profession programs such as pharmacy. At several banks, no co-signer is required for these loans, and interest rates are very competitive, especially for students in the health professions.
