Residency Outcomes

Many Doctor of Pharmacy program graduates choose to participate in PGY1 residency programs accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Residents in PGY1 residency programs are provided the opportunity to accelerate their growth beyond entry-level professional competence in patient-centered care and pharmacy operational services, and to further the development of leadership skills that can be applied in any position in any practice setting. PGY1 residents acquire the substantial knowledge required for skillful problem solving, refine their problem-solving strategies, strengthen their professional values and attitudes, and advance the growth of their clinical judgment.

Oregon State University PharmD students exceed the national average in registering for the residency match process, actively listing in the process, and matching with a program.

Recent residency outcomes for applicants include:

  • 87% match rate among the 2024 graduates who had an active listing in the residency matching process, compared to the national average of 81%.
  • 80% match rate among the 2024 graduates who registered for the residency matching process, compared to the national average of 73%.
