Biography

 Deanna Moretz, PharmD, BCPS is currently employed by the Oregon State University College of Pharmacy as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist supporting the work of the Drug Use Research Management (DURM) group. She earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Pharmacy in 1984 from the State University of New York at Buffalo. After completing her initial degree, Deanna completed a hospital residency at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. In 2000, she was awarded her PharmD degree through the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has extensive experience as an acute care practitioner in a variety of hospital environments. Deanna directed the experiential program at OSU College of Pharmacy from 2003-2007. During her tenure at OSU she presented clerkship training programs for preceptors and students at multiple venues, mentored students at health fairs, and interacted with preceptors throughout the state. She served as Pharmacy Care Manager for Safeway from 2007 to 2009. In that role she mentored the 12 interns Safeway recruited each summer, expanded the travel health program, taught CPR, provided MTM services, coordinated onsite health screenings and trained pharmacists in the art of immunizations. From 2009 to 2016 she worked for Providence Health and Services in a variety of roles including Residency Program Director and Clinical Coordinator for Newberg Medical Center. In her current position, she develops criteria for prior authorization, assists in policy development, prepares Pharmacy and Therapeutics presentations, and continues to mentor pharmacy students and residents. Participation in professional organizations has been very important to Deanna throughout her pharmacy career. She has been an OSHP member since moving to Oregon from North Carolina in 2003 and actively participated on various committees including Pharmacy Week, Educational Affairs, and Annual Seminar. She served on the OSHP Board of Directors as EAC Co-Chair and Secretary from 2004 through 2010. She also served as OSHP President-Elect, President, and Past-President from 2014-2017.
