"The ability to involve myself and affect clinical decisions for the patients was fantastic. The receptiveness of the staff and the encouragement of the pharmacists (particulary Christi and Grace) was so rewarding."    ~ 2015-2016 P4 Student

Chemawa is an ambulatory clinic which serves the Native American population in Northwest Oregon. We also serve the students at Chemawa High School – a Native American Boarding school that is also on our campus. Our clinic is unique as we are funded by the federal government and our students are solely Native American. There are four projects for this rotation:

  1. Drug info questions
  2. Journal articles review
  3. Case presentation
  4. Projects that the students choose according to their interest.

We use the Electronic Health Record for patient information. Since we are a small clinic with many different departments, the students get to work with lab, optometry, a student nurse, and attend the pharmacy and clinic meetings.
