Class of 2029 smiles for the camera

White Coat Ceremony 2026

White Coat Ceremony signifies the beginning of a student's role as a student pharmacist. On Friday, January 9th, 2026, the 68 members of OSU College of Pharmacy's Class of 2029 took part in the ceremony. The College of Pharmacy recognizes the Class of 2029 for taking this important step in their professional journey. We express our gratitude for the family and friends who attended to support them.

The Class of 2029 comprises 68 students, including 50 Oregonians and 18 nonresidents from across the country and around the world. A remarkable 18% of the class are first‑generation college students.

The event was conducted by Dean David Bearden. Juancho Ramirez presented the names as faculty from the College of Pharmacy provided students with their white coats. Student Alicia Cheng, Executive Council President, led the Pledge of Professionalism.

Finally, remarks were provided by Roberto Linares ('91), professor and alumnus of the College of Pharmacy. His remarks highlighted the long history of pharmacy and how it is up to this class, along with the classes that came before them, to continue the effort to expand and improve care for patients.

The event concluded with a short video presentation highlighting interviews with students recorded during their orientation, expressing their excitement and interest in the program.

We sincerely thank Albertsons Companies for sponsoring this year's ceremony.
