Happy Birthday card and photo that reads "Happy Birthday May 28, 2024 Twins John and Joan with Carolyn in Ontario, Ca"

“Thanks OSU Pharmacy for giving me the tools to craft a good life. Carolyn '64 and I have four children and ten grandchildren. I used my California Pharmacy license for 50+ years in ten or more different retail pharmacies, in more that 30 or more different locations, including 34 years with Safeway/VONS. I served several thousand patients and was not ready to retire when I did. This is a great career where you can help many, many without a scalpel. Just clarifying the multitude of colorful packages of whatever I hope was helpful. Go Beavers!”

John Phillip Laschober, Class of 1966

“After working many years at the bedside in oncology research, I decided to take a position at the National Cancer Institute in the Pharmaceutical Management Branch (PMB). Pharmacists in PMB are responsible for managing a portfolio of investigational agents that are supplied to over 1600 clinical trial sites throughout the nation and several international sites ... When I graduated from OSU in 2013 my goal was to work in oncology research but I never knew there were so many unique career opportunities available if you work hard and apply yourself. I never pictured myself working in the federal domain but you never know what doors will open sometimes to a fulfilling career.”

Kayla McGahey Dye, Class of 2013
