Application Steps

Step 1

Eligibility Verification: Our program follows the OSU Graduate School's minimum academic requirements for admission. See Graduate Admissions - Minimum Academic Requirements for full details.

Step 2

Document Collection: Assemble the following documents for the application review:

  • Transcripts: Gather your unofficial academic records/transcripts for the initial review. Official transcripts will be required if admission is granted.
  • Test Scores: Note that the GRE is not mandatory for our program. However, international students may need to provide a qualifying English language proficiency exam score. See Requirements section for more information.
  • Reference Letters: Plan to include the name and email address for three reference writers. Letter writers will be sent instructions for uploading their letters to the application portal. Guidance on choosing your referees can be found here.

Step 3

Complete Application: Complete each section of the application. Respond to the questions in the application about your goals, educational background, research experience, and readiness for graduate education. These responses will form your ‘personal statement’. No additional personal statement is required to be uploaded.

The application can be submitted before letters of reference letters are received. Reference letters will automatically upload to your application as they are received by the reference letter system.

Submit your completed application by the January 1, 2025 deadline for the Fall 2025 intake.
