OSPA represents pharmacists statewide before the State Legislature, state agencies, Congress and with other health care stakeholders. OSPA provides a wide range of services to both employee and owner member pharmacists, including excellent continuing education opportunities and advanced practice programs.

OSPA's Annual Convention is where pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and student pharmacists from the surrounding regions convene, learn, network and engage with colleagues and peers. This typically two-day convention in Portland has ample opportunities to broaden your knowledge in the pharmacy profession.

OSHP is the state affiliate of the national professional organization, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. OSHP's nearly 800 members represent pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy students, and advocates in the pharmacy industry who provide patient care servies in hospitals, health-systems, and ambulatory clinics. For more than 60 years, OSHP has been on the forefront of efforts to improve medication use and enhance patient safety.

The Fall Seminar is a daylong event held each Fall in late October or early November in the Portland Metro area. Fall Seminar delivers about 8 hours of continuing education for pharmacists and technicians. A variety of clinical education programs are offered that appeal to pharmacists and technicians practicing in ambulatory and hospital settings. A student-specific track provides information about ASHP Residencies and career opportunities for new graduates. Students can obtain specific information about residency programs in Oregon and SW Washington at the Residency Showcase. Throughout the day, it is possible for attendees to visit with pharmaceutical industry partners at an array of exhibits.

The Annual Seminar is a weekend long event held each Spring in late April or early May. The venue alternates every 2 years between Central Oregon and the Central Coast. Annual Seminar delivers at least 15 hours of continuing education for pharmacists and technicians and serves as OSHP’s annual business meeting with open forum. CE topics may cover a vast array of interests including pharmacy management, leadership, student precepting methods, clinical practices, and law updates. Programming for pharmacy technicians and students specifically is also offered. Poster presentations allow members having completed research projects to share their results with colleagues from around the state. The Industry Exhibition allows conference attendees to connect with over 30 pharmaceutical industry partners. The Seminar is also organized to encourage professional networking and having fun. Participants are encouraged to attend the Welcome Reception and Awards Banquet; Run, jog, or walk in the Gary Claussen Memorial Run; take the opportunity to play golf on the adjacent course.
